It’s True What They Say – “Mother Really Does Know Best”

My mom had been treating with a chiropractor, and decided it would be in our best interest for my brother and me to start seeing the chiropractor as well. We were both student athletes, and mom wanted to keep us in optimum health. So we started treating regularly with the chiropractor and found that we were happier, healthier, and were able to perform better in our chosen sports.

I always knew that I wanted to work in the healthcare field, and once I began seeing a chiropractor, I realized this was the path for me. I wanted to help people -  I wanted make them feel better and live better, without invasive surgeries or costly prescription medications. What better choice than chiropractic? I wanted to do for others what the chiropractor had done for me and my family. I knew that I could make a difference in the lives of my patients, and this was my goal. To achieve this goal, I began paving my way toward a career in chiropractic.

    Chiropractic Education

I am a lifelong resident of the Akron/Ravenna area. I graduated from Ravenna High School. I started at the University of Akron and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I then moved on to Logan College of Chiropractic, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, as well as my Doctor of Chiropractic. While attending school in Akron, I worked with Ravenna City Police and Fire as a dispatcher. After moving to Missouri to attend Logan, I volunteered at the Scottish Games, played on the ladies basketball team, and also played on the co-ed softball team which competed at the Chiro-Games.

I am an active member of Tri-County Chiropractic Association (TTCA) a division of the Ohio State Chiropractic Association (District 5). I held multiple officer positions and now currently the Assistant District 5 Director.

Understanding The Benefits Of Chiropractic Adjustments

As a Doctor of Chiropractic, I understand the benefits of adjustments. I get adjusted once every two or three weeks, just to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I truly believe in the benefits of chiropractic, as a lifelong chiropractic patient myself, and understand the benefits of good, quality care. I’m excited to provide a high-level of care to my patients.

    Helping People Get Well

My main aspiration is to help people get well and once they are well, to keep them well. I strive to maintain a patient-driven practice. I want to know my patients, and for them to know me. I want them to feel comfortable telling me about their pain, and to trust in the care I provide. I never want my patients to feel that they are just another patient. I want them to know that I care about them, their families, and their lives. I also want to help my patients understand the role of nutrition in a healthy lifestyle, and help improve the quality of life for my patients. I am proficient with hands-on full spine adjustments and extremity adjusting and utilizes techniques such as Cox Flexion/Distraction, and Thompson Drop technique. My skills allow me to treat a wide array of musculoskeletal conditions, including back and neck pain, from headaches to sciatica.

    I love Spending Time Outdoors

Over the summer, I enjoy golfing with the ladies at Sycamore Golf Course in the Valley. When I’m not golfing, camping and diving also top my list of recreation activities, especially in my native Canada, where most of my family still resides. In the winter I coach basketball along with my brother Jeremy. I have coached the teams my wonderful nieces, Zoie and Ava played on. The teams are from the Ravenna city school and Parks and Recreation department.
